Polyester and elastane are commonly used in sportswear such as leggings, rashguards, and performance t-shirts. While they may not feel as soft as cotton, they come with a range of benefits. These fabrics are stretchy, flexible, durable, and most importantly – wrinkle-resistant. Some, thanks to advanced technology, also offer excellent breathability.

The biggest advantage of polyester and elastane, however, is how easy they are to maintain. Unlike cotton garments, caring for these materials is much less demanding. Most of the time, they don’t require ironing — which could actually damage the fabric — and they dry incredibly fast due to their chemical properties. What’s more, colors on polyester and elastane garments remain vibrant and intense for years.
